This is a GENERATION III Carlton Door. With GENRATION III doors, I have added
split-screen chat, better memory and modem handling, and I cut an average
of 100k off from every executable file. (Better library takes less space!)
Unlike my Generation 2 doors (which use DoorFrame by the late Ted Freeman)
GENERATION III goes back to my own original library updated with new routines
to handle Fossil and Desqview intervention.
GENERATION III also has *done away with* multiple configuration files for
multi-node systems. A utility is included with each GENERATION III door
called MAKENODE.EXE. MAKENODE creates a node definition table allowing
every node to have differently named (SYSOP NAMED) dropfiles. This
was due to one sysop claiming to have better than 10 nodes and having to
rename his DORINFOJ.DEF to DORINFO1.DEF to run doors.
Once MAKENODE is run and all the BBS nodes defined, MAKENODE will never have
to be run again for any GENERATION III door, unless more BBS nodes are added.
The command for GENERATION III doors is: "DOORNAME #" where the # is a number
1-99 telling the door which node is running it. Using a zero or leaving the
node number off will allow the door to run in local mode, without a dropfile.
